That is generally what I'd go for. You'd be suprised at some of the ones in the supermarket, they really are not that bad at all.

what is an appropriate time to drink buckfast? would you have it in a pub or club, or is it strictly for after hours or early morning.

apparently that ad copy is based on an actual conversation shouted between a tramp and whichever Gallo brother is recposible for that rot (vince i think) from his car. despicable.
Which reminds me. One of my flatmates works as a advertising creative and says that for the last two years- he has been the only person working there to actually veto the plan to use tramps as mobile billboards.
again, despicable.

i actually think this could be pretty fucking hillarious in some cases. can you imagine the possibilities...
McDonalds having thier brand associated with an unwashed mumbling street drunk.
Investment banking advertised by a strung out skaghead who's pissed himself.
why's he vetoing this again?!? this could be just that move these companies are looking for...

no never seen it, however, i'm laughing at the ad company, not the homeless person. the idea that any company would want to use tramps as advertising space is ridiculous. is someone really going to say "oh i just saw an ad for that new car on that man over there covered in vomit, no i think he's just alseep, oh, maybe he is dead, anyway, that car sure does look great."

i totally agree. but in modern creative branding and viral marketing the measure to which clients co-ops the transgressive to affect a matey relationship with their buyers is pretty sickening these days. aaargh i could go on about this for hours. and probably will at some point.
and i wasn't suggesting that anyone who laughed at the bumfights dvd should climb into the hairshirt- hell the otherday i laughed watching a documentary about the parents of a 31 year old schitzophrenic trying to procure a thai bride for him. It was quite the saddest thing i've ever seen on telly. But there's a difference between finding pathos in a horribly sad human situation and exploiting it for commercial ends

anytime is bucky time, my young padawan.
i prefer post club/early morning to induce that second wind, but i know some people who start on it. thats not very easy to do though. there's a pub here called the meadows bar that has it on an optic, but would never be seen doing something so vulgar as to drink the wine in a pub. pubs are for beer.
there was this dude my mate used to work with four or so years ago called euan who had a tattoo of a feotus vomiting out it's own intestines on his arm. he used to drink a bottle of the wine a day. he told my mate that he "once coughed up something that resembled a small, bloody prawn." he also fell off the stage of studio 24 due to taking loads of e's and drinking lots of bucky and subsequently died. so, probably not a good idea to over indulge.
with me, i like to keep it as a bit of a 'special treat'.:)

I like the chilean red wines as well. They aren´t that cheap and excellent value.
For white ones I´d go for "Rheinhessen".

I reccomend St Hallett Barossa Shiraz from Australia. Otherwise you won't go wrong with a good Rioja reserva. Don't ignore the Chillean either Cassilero del Diablo do a good range that we get over here.

I wish I understood wines better. When I was waitering in the (sadly no longer extant) Black Chapati restaurant in Brighton, Steve the manager/chef would give us all some brilliant education in wine / food combination, but every time it would be followed by several bottles and I would completely forget everything I'd been told. I do know that all these Australian wines are dull as ditchwater cos they're all scientifically brewed according to lowest common denominator focus group results...
One wine I've had that stands out is actually a Californian one - Fetzer Zinfandel... Zinfandel is a really rich red grape variety anyway, but this one was mad. I got it cos I was intrigued by the restaurant wine list description which said it tasted of "rasberries and chocolate", and damned if they weren't right!

i love the wine that my granpa makes. it's the best stuff, a little bit stronger then bottled wines, but it tastes so good. i like grasevina, as well. it's a croatian wine. croatia has large wine resources, but they are not well known in the rest of the world. back in history, when a big part of the balkan was under austro-hungarian monarchy, the austrian king palace used to order their wine from the region where my granpa lives.

if something is forever it´s koskenkorva viina!
http://www.spiritscorner.com/imgcat/koskenkorva_viina.jpg
to mix the perfect finnish drink. add one, two or three fingers next to the glas to see how much viina it should be in the glas then you add coca cola... it´s simple as hell and it´s the roughest damn drink in the world. (to make it extra special, add ice (but thats luxury)).
ok bois and gals. go to the nearest bathhouse and bring a bottle of koskenkorva to the sauna and go nuts!

this topic reminds me bout polish special called "jabol"(pronounced yabohl)-very cheap wine, made with fruit juice(v.often apple juice) and additions like spirit or sulphur to make it stronger without increasing he price.
Usual drink for homeless, punks and students(after 2:00 am)
