Adaware and Spybot are the classics, both free from www.downloads.com

add SpywareBlaster which works well with the other two for extra protection..

PM me and I'll give you a link to an FTP with clean versions. FUCK downloads.com. I just got a proggie off of there the other day and the bastard put a fucking trojan in my machine. I got rid of it pretty quickly, but I don't trust downloads.com for shit anymore. DO NOT USE DOWNLOADS.COM!!!!!! I've got a couple tools that will get those proggies out, and have your machine cleaned up in a jiffy. However, be careful with them as if you get a bit too carried away you can delete a LOT of necessary files and extensions from your reg before you know it.

ad-aware is best.

I didn't know that about downloads.com, I will avoid in future.

I've recently had to clean up some computers at work that were absolutely riddled with malwares, and I've found that spybot picked up quite a few that adaware missed.

And I'll echo that echo. I'm hooked on Firefox now.

And you can get rid of annoying adverts with a click of the mouse.

Hey, on a complete tangent - did you know you can minimize all windows (in the same style as a mac F11 key) on Windows by pressing Windows and M key?

To restore press Windows, Shift and M together.

anyone who still uses IE represents a thread to the web. check opera - or mozilla firefox if you can do with less features. ;)

Cool, nice one - it's amazing that I've probably spent at least 50% of my life for the last 6 years using a computer, but still find really basic shortcuts that I never knew about. Maybe I should read the manuals :D

Took me four years to find alt+tab

Fuck me I knew about NONE of these shortcuts. Mozilla's nice too.
