i have no experience with external ones but i doom hp and especially philips for the endless problems i had with their internal writers. teac was my 1st reliable one, then i got a cheaper faster one from taiwan-based liteon - and it works better, for longer than hp or philips did.

btw toshiba cd/dvdrom-drives rule - it's a shame they don't build writers as well.

yeah, I have a lite-on in my desktop mac - it´s great! But now I´m looking for an extern one... I don´t accept problems at all!!! hate it - just vasted three days on the shit by now... fuck!

Pllleeeeeease help me...

USB - plug´n´play; yeah right!??!!!

i dunno what external writer for you to get...i have had problems with all of mine!! (iomega and sony) but i highly recommend not getting a usb one (if you can), it just isnt' a stable or powerful connection. scsi or firewire are much much better...

but u want a USB2.0 CD-RW which is not too heavy? and can be fitted to Mac oder PC?
