This really is bad news guys. Billy made some horrible comments regarding Mr Bigley, whos fate is still in the balance. He said

"Havn't they killed him yet" and other terrible words. A man heckled and was told to 'fuck off'.
Not the sort of role model we want for the new generation off kids etc.

billy connoly is an absolute disgrace. i gave up on him when i seen some absolute rubbish "ceremony" where all his showbiz pals done little speeches on how much they thought he was great. i actually got the boke. his wifes a total dafty too. so much for the funny ex shipbuilder hippy from partick who used to genuinely tell funny stories in the brilliant glasgow way.

in my opinion hes a complete arse.

ive hated him for years and couldnt understand why alot of others i knew didnt....... he was/is pro royal family and mocks scotland... for a while it was like he denied where he was from when all the time he was making money out of being scottish... in his shows he puts on a thick accent but in footage say with the queen or with other people he has this disgusting accent on...

i also know someone who stayed at the same hotel as him once and they caught him huffing and puffing at one of the servents for wanting a tip, was very rude about it and went "oh for fucksake allright then" and put coppers in the servents hand!! like he cant afford it!?!?, stingy fuck

the british papers usually blackout kidnappings of british nationals. ken bigley is all over the news becuase the international media, easily available by the internet and sattelite were carrying the story and it would be pointless to ignore it. i dont think thats a valid point smartie though, obviously he knew the risk, but maybe his buisness would become a world leader or something if he took the risk and done the job. that may not sound valid, but journalists do it all the time to get the big scoop, and nobody calls them stupid. by the way, ken bigley lived in a really safe part of town where the locals were ok and didnt have armed escort and stuff because he felt relatevely safe. i dont think hes a twat at all, maybe a little too trusting

should he be expected to act like a politically correct spokesmen for a generation, or even just a sensible, sensitive chap, in a comedy setting? you gotta suspend that level of ethical critique for comedy, even if the lines don't reach ya laugh muscle.. just as stephen king isn't a mass murderer, a comedian who spouts offensive-to-some material isn't necassarilly heartless or twisted.

if his audience can't view the routine framed in the context it's presented they should stay at home, or go see bobby davro, harry hill or someone instead - where the only thing liable to offend an audience is the fact that nothing could.
