jes. thanks a lot for answers.
my question deals about the following:
when talking about aestetics in art, design or architecture (the visual arts), then it seems to be quantasible by the things you see: propotions, material, forms, measures etc.
then an 'asthetic piece' is something that is mosty called 'beatyful'.
but what the aestetic in music's all about? is it about frequncy spectrums that produce beautyful sound? or is it about harmonics or melodics? i really don't know what it deals about, althought this word ist often used in a interlectual context...

The term aesthetic is a bit of a funny one I think, cos it can mean lots of different things. I use it to describe something that I can't quite describe in other ways, or to describe 'the flavour' of something visual or musical.
For instance the other night i was watching an Elvis documentary and listening to the Cramps - who are like an amplification of what has become the elvis aesthetic ( which includes white trash/hamburgers/americana/quiffs/jim jarmush/sequins/b-movies/vegas etc). This is a bad example.
Pretty much everything has an aesthetic (not neccesarily pleasing)
think its something to do with style, mood , the feel of a thing. - probably as simple as that?????

Perhaps you should consider paradigm instead...

@baba
i think so, too.
it seems, that aestetic is used for the things, that can't descibed exactly. it seems, that a lot of digital music has got that 'digital aestetic'. thay says to me: when listening to, then having this abstract pictures of digitalism in mind, that i could not draw it. the pictures are always diffrent, but the feel - aestetic?- is the same.
i think having a good idea in a new way of making music is 'useless' untill it discovers a new aestetic. well, that the way i think right now...

yea, i know what you mean when you say 'try paradigm' - my example was a bit crap but what I meant was slightly different. an aesthetic, i feel is something more subtle -related to tone or style - things from two distinct paradigms can posess a similar aesthetic -a piece of classical music can have a similar aesthetic to a piece of electronic music or a painting or a book .
