Nightmares on Wax email horror?

is it just me.. or did anyone else get around 300 mails from Warp & the intelligent ppl who replied to the mistake it made this night?

and then...

this decent person had a auto-reply set.. so everyone on the list got this around 200 times:

is that coming with the warp-mailinglist? i'm subscribed to this too but they didn't send me hundreds of mails, i guess it's a technical fault. at least it's pretty hard to believe that warp is going under the spambots.

I got em as well .. so it wasn't just MUX ...

I think after a while some mail systems will spot it as a spam and stop the message .... yahoo mail sort of does this ...

Yeah - I never saw it either....but thety must have a good few thou on their email newsletter (do you think that's an overestimation?) so it can't have gone to all of us. Maybe it goes in order of joining..........oh fuck it - I don't know!!

me got that message once via the reaktor-mailinglist (NI).

Maybe a virus? Who knows....

That well known virus called "aRightRoyalFuckup" .... or more commonlly known as "SysAdminsWhoOnlyDoHalfTheJob" .....

Hence the following offical response from the warp web site:

MAILING LIST NIGHTMARE
Our sincere appologies to everyone on the Nightmares On Wax mailing list. We mailed out on Tuesday and to our horror realised that we had accedentially set the list allowing all subscribers to post to the list. People's automatic holiday messages created a nightmare email loop that could only be stopped by unsubscribing.
SORRY! We have learnt our lesson and this will never happen again.

I had the same problem, except it was with a porn mail out.
What a nightmare! My Inbox was full with the same porn- I want some blooming variety!
